- 1 gallon apple juice
- 4 cups orange juice
- 2 cups pineapple juice
- 1 cup lemon juice about 7 medium lemons
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 teaspoons whole cloves
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup sugar or to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the apple juice, orange juice, pineapple juice, and lemon juice.
- Add the cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, ground cloves, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, and sugar to the pot.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat until it reaches a simmer.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the wassail simmer for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld and the spices to infuse into the drink.
- After simmering, remove the pot from the heat.
- Optionally, strain the wassail to remove the spices if you prefer a smoother drink, or leave them in for a more rustic presentation.
- Ladle the warm wassail into mugs and serve.
